Colyford Village Scarecrow Competition

Colyford Goose Fayre 2021

Colyford Scarecrow Competition
Due to several issues arising from the pandemic we will sadly not be holding a Goose Fayre this year.
To bring together the village in a safe way and engage the residents in a community event, we invite you all to help celebrate the Goose Fayre and the village by taking part in a Medieval Scarecrow Pilgrimage and competition.

This will provide an opportunity for individuals, families, groups and businesses to come together to celebrate our village and traditions.
We invite you to design and make your medieval scarecrow over the summer and display it ready for judging. Entries will be judged from 1st September. A map showing the location of scarecrow entries will then be made available for you to view at your leisure. We hope to see lots of villagers undertake their own ‘pilgrimage’ walk on Saturday 11th September when there will be a ‘Village Welcome’ event in the Colyford Memorial Hall with refreshments throughout the day.

Village Welcome Event Saturday

11th September 10.30am – 3.30pm

Colyford is usually an active village with plenty going on, mostly in the village hall. However, the last year has been awfully quiet. To introduce ourselves to all new residents and reacquaint with everyone else we would like to invite you to a drop in Welcome at the Memorial Hall. Here, you can find out about the many organisations who meet in the village.

The Goose Fayre committee will have the results of their Medieval Scarecrow competition along with maps showing their locations.

Complimentary refreshments will be available.
